Understand the Site Development Cost Before you Buy

Before you negotiate with a builder, if your lot is irregularly shaped, sloped and/or heavily wooded, get an estimate in writing for clearing and removal of unwanted trees. Make this estimate part of your building agreement. Do not settle for the builder or their agent going out to the property and saying, "This looks good and it will or should be within or close to the site prep allowance". Not doing this has had devastating financial consequences for buyers later in the construction process. Most builders will provide a site clearing, removal and fill allowance. Stump Grinding & Removal Service

We grind the stumps in place, reducing them to small chips that can be mixed into the top soil. Grinding the stump to 6" to 12" below grade, we then backfill the hole with the resulting debris. Often, there is a mound of debris that is left behind, which can be used in foundation beds as mulch. Upon request excess debris can be removed to be flush with the ground.
